Dr. Peter Brofman, DVM, MS, ACVIM (Neurology & Internal Medicine)
Dr. Brofman received his Bachelor of Science from Tufts University and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at The Animal Medical Center in 2001 then pursued his true calling to neurology and completed his neurology residency at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Brofman is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in both neurology and internal medicine specialties. He has extensive experience in all aspects of both surgical and medical neurology with particular interest in spinal trauma and surgery, yet he still enjoys using his knowledge of internal medicine to help him approach cases with a broader perspective. Dr. Brofman’s practice philosophy focuses on quality of life for both his patients and their family.
Dr. Brofman routinely provides continuing education lectures for veterinarians, technicians, and pet owners locally and out-of-state. He is currently the National Director of Neurology for Thrive Pet Healthcare and is very active in the neurology and veterinary communities. He has been:
- A founding member of the Veterinary Neurosurgical Society
- A member of the exam committee responsible for administering and evaluating the certification exam for The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Neurology Specialty
- The Neurology Section editor for the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association”
