Full Time Small Animal Internist

Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Centers is seeking a board certified or residency trained small animal internist to join our team of specialists.  VESC is a multi-specialty hospital that is open 24/7.  Our hospital offers specialized care in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dermatology, Physical Therapy, Ophthalmology, Animal Behavior, and Acupuncture. The hospital was established with the goal of providing advanced medical care to meet the emergency and specialty needs of the veterinary community in New Mexico and surrounding states. Our role is to strengthen and maximize the relationship between people and their beloved pets by providing the best specialty veterinary care possible. We are committed to our standards of service excellence and are dedicated to exceeding the expectations of those we serve. We strive to provide our clients with excellent medical care and this is accomplished through teamwork, respect, compassion, and a strong continuing education program. VESC has two facilities, a 15,500 square foot hospital in Albuquerque, NM and a 15,000 square foot hospital in Santa Fe, NM.  Both hospitals are staffed with excellent team of veterinary technicians and equipped with CT scanner and MRI (Albuquerque) and MRI (Santa Fe), ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopy, advanced surgery – including minimally invasive techniques, full in-house laboratory, and underwater treadmill. Albuquerque is a rapidly growing city well known for its culture and outdoor recreation.  Located within the Rio Grande Valley beneath the Sandia Mountains, the picturesque landscape and varied terrain make it a popular place for people of all ages.  Much of the historic culture of the area can be visited both in town and within a few hours’ drive.  Santa Fe, a historic site in its own rite, is known for its large variety of museums, art, festivals, music, theater, and opera.  New Mexico also offers numerous outdoor activities including ski resorts within a 2 to 3 hours drive, endless mountain biking, camping, hiking, fishing and more.    Applicants should be board certified or residency trained by ACVIM. The Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Centers of New Mexico, LLC (VESCNM) is seeking a full time-emergency veterinarian for our beautiful, state-of-the art Santa Fe hospital, as well as our Albuquerque and West Mesa hospitals.  In addition to a thriving emergency practice, VESCNM has board certified specialists in emergency/critical care, surgery, internal medicine, physical therapy, dermatology, oncology, acupuncture, and animal behavior. Our two board-certified criticalists provide 7 day week coverage and are available for after-hours calls on a case-by-case basis.

Santa Fe boasts a vibrant cultural, art and culinary scene making it a highly desirable relocation destination.   We are looking for an emergency veterinarian who possesses excellent medical and surgical skills, enthusiasm, compassion and a desire to offer the community the best veterinary experience possible.  VESCNM offers generous compensation which includes a base salary plus production, health and dental insurance, CE, membership dues and a 401K plan.  The rotating emergency schedule allowing for significant blocks of free time and semi-annual vacation stipends are provided.

The Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New Mexico is searching for experienced full time and part time Veterinary Technicians to work evening and overnight shifts in our busy, 24-hour emergency practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of current experience as a veterinary technician or assistant working in a fast-paced, patient-centered veterinary practice. Your strong skills and recent work experience should require little job training and allow you to jump in quickly with both feet and sleeves rolled up ready to go. All overnight shifts receive a pay differential. Schedules vary but generally allow for 3-4 days off per week. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of current experience as a veterinary technician working in a fast-paced, patient-centered veterinary practice, preferably critical, specialty or emergency care. Your strong technician skills and recent work experience should require little job training and allow you to jump in quickly to a critical care setting.

Our center is a large, state-of-the-art practice and we are the only dedicated after-hours emergency hospital in northern New Mexico.
