Administration

Lynda Stevens, Hospital Administrator, Albuquerque

Lynda Stevens joined Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New Mexico in 2003 as the Center’s first Hospital Administrator.  She is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Albuquerque location which consists of more than 60 employees.  Lynda spearheaded the efforts in obtaining the hospital's AAHA accreditation. She also plays a key role in coordinating and directing the organization’s renowned Weekend with the Specialists Conference -- an annual event which draws over 200 attendees from several states.  In addition to her responsibilities as the Hospital Administrator, Lynda serves as the Executive Director of Cause for Paws, a non-profit organization that helps fund necessary veterinary treatment for pets belonging to financially strained families.  She is a founding member of the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Practice Association (VESPA) – a network of emergency and specialty practice managers that recognize and support the needs of emergency and specialty veterinary medicine.  In addition, Lynda is an active member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  Prior to joining VESC of NM, Lynda spent seven years in retail management where she traveled extensively while enhancing her employee and customer relations skills.  Lynda is a 2010 graduate of the Veterinary Management Institute, a distinguished program of study through Purdue University, Indiana. 

 

Rhonda Macias, Purchasing, VESC of Santa Fe

Rhonda Macias joined VESC of Santa Fe in 2009 as our inventory/purchasing specialist.  In addition to keeping our facility sufficiently stocked, Rhonda is also in charge of hospital safety and OSHA compliance.  Rhonda began her career in veterinary medicine 10 years ago at a day practice before moving into 24 hour emergency medicine.  Originally from Oklahoma, Rhonda moved to New Mexico 22 years ago where she worked for the USPS and in business before moving into veterinary medicine.  Rhonda enjoys life with her husband and two adult boys as well as four dogs, four cats, one bird, and several fish. When not working, she likes to spend time with her family, camping, fishing, and just being outside.
